At Built on the Rock (BOTR), we prioritise transparency and clarity to ensure that our users understand the scope and limitations of our services.
By using any of our BOTR products, you agree to these boundaries, as well as our Privacy Policy and other legal fine print, which can be found here for your reference. We respect your boundaries and aim to provide you with a clear understanding of what to expect from us.
BOTR does not offer immediate crisis intervention or medical services. We do not employ staff to be on call, nor do we require any Provider or any Mental Health Advocates providing mental health support to their church community on our platform to provide mental health support on demand. If you are experiencing an emotional crisis, please contact local emergency services. In the UK, you can call NHS 111 for non-emergency advice. If you believe you might harm yourself or someone else, please call the Samaritans on 116 123, dial 999, or visit A&E.
Our platform provides access to Provider Service and church-facilitated mental health support aimed at helping you manage your emotional well-being. While providers and your church's Mental Health Advocates can assist with issues like anxiety and depression, BOTR, as a facilitator of this process, is not a substitute for medical treatment and cannot offer support if you are considering causing harm to yourself or others. If you require more intensive support than BOTR can offer, we will assist you in finding the appropriate resources.
Your privacy is important to us. Provider and Mental Health Advocates providing support via our platform are bound by UK law and ethical guidelines, which may require us to break confidentiality in cases of risk of harm, terrorism, or criminal activities like money laundering. If you're involved in a crime, a UK court might ask us to share any information we have on you, and we'd legally have to comply, including session details. We adhere strictly to these guidelines to ensure your safety while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Our platform facilitates Mental Health Support within church communities, but Mental Health Advocates are trained not to give direct advice. Instead, they will use their training to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, sharing biblical and relevant resources to help you find your own solutions. This is a faith-based process of self-discovery and empowerment, not a source of prescriptive advice. The language BOTR and our Mental Health Advocates use will always make this boundary clear. If you ever feel that this isn't so, please report it as an incident via the BOTR platform or by emailing us at hello@builtontherock.app.
We uphold the highest standards of privacy and security for your data, adhering to GDPR and HIPAA compliance. We monitor the quality of service provided by Mental Health Advocates. For providers, BOTR ensures that they adhere to the Ethical Framework set out by UK leading regulatory bodies (BACP, BPS, BABCP, UKCP, HCPC, NCS, and similar) to ensure you receive the best support possible. If you wish to raise a concern or complaint about a Mental Health Advocate or Provider, please email us at hello@builtontherock.app privately and securely. We begin a full investigation for any report sent to this email address.
